Just Bought a Ranger Tug? Start Here.
We've owned our R27 since 2020 — 12,949 miles, a 2,600-mile Alaska expedition to Glacier Bay, and 400+ videos documenting everything along the way. When we took delivery we had the same questions you do. Here's everything we've built to help new owners get up to speed fast.

ABOUT US
We're Martin and LaZina Nethkin, home ported at Dagmars Marina in Everett, WA. We bought Channel Surfing — a 2021 Ranger Tug R27 Outboard — in 2020 and haven't looked back. 12,949 miles later, including a 55-day, 2,600-mile expedition to Glacier Bay, Alaska, we're still finding new reasons to love this boat. Our daughter Melissa joins us on every trip.
We started the channel because when we were buying our R27, we couldn't find the information we actually needed. Six years later, we're still filling that gap.
