Free Power Management Calculator — Updated for 2026

Six years ago I built a calculator to figure out how much power we actually consume on Channel Surfing. I used it to size our solar and house bank upgrade when I converted to LFP. I've been refining it ever since and sharing it with anyone who asks.

It includes real Pacific Northwest solar production data as experienced by Channel Surfing, throughout the year, and an AGM vs LFP battery capacity comparison.

Enter your daily usage (how long you'll watch TV, listen to the radio, use the microwave) and it tells you exactly what state of charge your battery bank will be at the end of the day.

One thing I've learned after all of this: if you think you need a bigger battery bank, upgrade your solar first.
