Bimini/Canvas Upgrade

After 5 years it was time to upgrade our bimini canvas.

LaZina and I were looking specifically for the following:

  • Don't pool water when it rains. We want the water to shed naturally.

  • We wanted a place to store the USCG required throwable seat cushion flotation device.

  • At the forward section of the Bimini, use the canvas to direct water into the boat's gutters so it doesn't run into the cockpit.

  • Change the color to black.

The canvas also has to support our WOT of 40mph.

We had Little House of Canvas in Everett, WA do the work. We know Jacy and Ryan (the owners) from the yacht club. They're great folks. They live-aboard a gorgeous 80' boat in Everett. They are boaters and really know canvas.

They did such a great job!!!

No more waterfalls on our head from rain collecting on the canvas.

I now have a place to store the throwable cushion in the cockpit. Easy access, and it's out of the way. Black also looks way better on our boat. With zippers, it's so much easier to take off annually for cleaning. They also added a snap in each corner. The front corners of the canvas are shaped such to redirect water onto the boat's gutters and shed as the boat was designed.

They also do full enclosures and upholstery.
