Hi Martin & Lazina,
After spending 2 months on our C Dory 22 Cruiser (2 people & 2 dogs) in southeast Alaska this past summer, we decided we needed a bigger boat. We knew we still wanted a trailerable boat. On our Alaska trip we trailered our CDory from California to Port Edward, BC and then cruised across the Dixon Entrance to Ketchikan. We then cruised, fished, and crabbed as far north as Petersburg. We visited the LeConte Glacier (within about 1 1/2 miles). One of our dogs got into a porcupine, so we visited the vet in Wrangell. We circumnavigated Prince of Wales Island. We cruised into Misty Fiords before heading back across the Dixon Entrance to Prince Rupert to clear customs. Then to Port Edward to put the C Dory back on the trailer and head back to California.
On the way home we did a little boat shopping in Bellingham and Anacortes. We had already watched a lot of your youtube videos. We had also heard about Ranger Tugs on the C Brats forum.
A couple of weeks ago we purchased a 2023 R27. It is now winterized and stored at Dagmars Marina.
For now, I only have 1 boat project. The boat was named "Kittiwake" (and that is what is currently painted on the boat). I need to remove "Kittiwake" and get "Dog On It, Janesville, CA" painted on the boat. Can you recommend someone that can come to Dagmars, remove the old lettering, and paint the new name and hailing port (and maybe some dog paw prints) on the boat?
Jim and Diane Rienstra
P.S. Since we are practically neighbors (Dagmars), we are hoping to meet you in person next boating season. We plan to spend the 2025 boating season in Puget Sound, the San Juans, and possibly BC.
