Boat Monitoring
Simple Remote Boat Monitoring
I added Sensar Marine to the boat for several specific reasons.
High Water Bilge Alarm
Trip Logging
Bilge Temperature
Geo-Fencing (automatic).
Battery Voltage
The unit has it's own cellular connectivity built in.
It pulls 0 watts and therefore does not come with an electrical tax on the house battery. It has it's own internal battery that'll operate for over 50 days isolated from power. When it senses a charge voltage (engine charging, shore-power, solar), it will charge it's own internal battery. When the boat's not being charged, Sensar Marine pulls 0 watts.
If Sensar Marine sees an error condition on the boat, I'm notified via txt msg to my phone.
Installation was fairly simple. Mount the unit at a location that gets decent cell signal, connect it to 12 volt power, and then run the bilge high water and temp sensor to the bilge. It also has a feature where you can wire it inline with a bilge pump and get alerts if your bilge pump turns on.
The unit costs $499 with a $10/mo subscription.
